The eaten-out egg
The English equivalent of the Russian idiom "not worth an eaten-out egg” is "not worth a pin” what explains this image. After a great beginning passes a point of no return it sometimes turns into a relic. It’s a pity to leave it but there is no more strength to carry it longer. It reminds a heavy read over book or a half-constructed house that you don’t need.
